About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Pool Accountant to join our accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the financial management and reporting of vessels operating within our shipping pool, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timely settlements among pool participants.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain pool accounts, including revenue and expense allocation across pool vessels
• Calculate and process monthly pool result distributions to shipowners
• Reconcile voyage accounts, hire statements, and bunker costs
• Liaise with operations and chartering departments to verify voyage data accuracy
• Prepare periodic financial reports, pool performance summaries, and variance analysis
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audits related to pool operations
• Ensure compliance with company policies, USGAAP, and relevant maritime accounting standards
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Up to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a shipping or pool management company
• Familiarity with voyage accounting and pool distribution mechanics is a strong advantage
• Proficiency in Excel; ERP / MIS systems literacy is a plus
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Good command of English (written and spoken)
