An established company in the sector of Shipping based in Piraeus, is seeking to recruit for an IT Support Engineer

Reports to: - IT Manager
Main Function
As part of a small global team, the primary responsibility is providing first-line technical support to Heidmar's own employees at the Piraeus office, onsite and in person. This role covers day-to-day desktop, account and mail-flow support, escalating more complex issues as appropriate. The secondary responsibility is proactive involvement in maintaining support documentation and processes, with scope to take on broader responsibility as the function grows.
Responsibilities
- Acts as first point of contact for day-to-day technical issues across the business.
- Help Desk support for Piraeus-based users, with composure under pressure.
- Manages mail flow on the on-premises Exchange environment: message tracing, quarantine release, and resolution of delivery issues (not full Exchange administration).
- Performs routine Active Directory tasks: account unlocks, password resets, basic user and group maintenance.
- Works across Microsoft 365 and Entra ID in a hybrid environment.
- Maintains systems documentation and logs; escalates issues with sound judgement.
- Supports whenever required by the business, which may include weekends and holidays.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable first-line support experience, including a proven ability to handle demanding users calmly and professionally.
- Technical Support spanning helpdesk, desktop, and remote support.
- Comfortable troubleshooting Exchange mail flow; confident with everyday Active Directory tasks.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID in a hybrid context is required.
- Experience with ticketing systems and foundational networking knowledge a plus.
- An interest in the maritime or shipping sector a plus.
- Ability to be a team member, jump into any role assigned, and willingness to learn and participate in new endeavors.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing to technical and non-technical employees.
