Position Profile and Requirements

Primary aim

To provide the technical support for the fleet’s management by contributing to technical matters pertaining primarily to electrical and electronic equipment and systems.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and follow up repair and maintenance work for electrical electronic and automation equipment and systems, in accordance with HSQEMS and Company’s requirements
  • Monitor and ensure the scheduled inspections and shore-based maintenance programs for the assigned equipment on board the vessels
  • Prepare the work orders and repair specifications related to the electrical and electronic equipment
  • Coordinate voyage / shipyard repairs and new installations for specific systems
  • Attend for vessel’s technical problems related to electrical and electronic systems in cooperation with the superintendents
  • Support the activities for the preparation of repairs / retrofit / new project specifications
  • Attend dry dockings and major repairs related to electrical and electronic equipment, organize, coordinate, and supervise the activity on board in cooperation with the ship’s superintendent
  • Ensure full compliance of all the electrical activities with the company’s safety standards and procedures and to contribute / ensure the related improvements and development
  • Cooperation with the vessel’s superintendent - monitor the Planned Maintenance System databases related to electrical-electronic equipment of all vessels and ensure that the related jobs are completed and properly recorded
  • Establish and maintain preventive maintenance and repair programs
  • Monitor and contribute for minimizing the expenses related to electrical and electronic equipment and assist in the formulation of the relevant budget
  • Prepare various relevant reports to the management, as requested

Profile

Formal education: University degree or alternatively bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Experience: Minimum 3 years’ practical technical experience in relevant fields during ship repairs and/or new building projects and/or experience as electrician officer onboard ships

Other qualifications: Excellent PC skills, Flexibility, teamwork, high performance orientation, excellent communication skills, ability to multitask and relationship management skills. Also, ability of movement for about 2 weeks per 3 months for vessel attendances

Languages: Fluent English, other European language is an asset
