Position Profile and Requirements

Primary aim

To participate in recording the expenses and preparing the financial results of the company by entering account information, and preparing account documentation.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • To follow up and input invoices in the Finance system, to cooperate with the relevant departments if necessary for the incoming invoices
  • To communicate and exchange correspondence with the Vendors for any financial issue
  • To do accounting entries for the necessary accruals to the Vessels periodically
  • To do bank reconciliation for the crew payments and make the necessary bookings (charges, etc.) and keep records
  • To handle, monitor the incoming invoices and follow up the invoice workflow through the system
  • To weekly check the correctness, follow up the registered costs comparing with the Budget for the assigned fleet by using the existing related software
  • To do reconciliations on a quarterly basis for the Accruals and other B/S accounts
  • To visit the statutory administration offices as required
  • To cooperate with other colleagues for producing reports for the authorities

Other roles/authorities

  • To Follow up with the vendors for the required documentation regarding VAT return or credit
  • To replace other accountants during their absence on day-to-day issues

Profile

Formal education: University degree in Accounting or Economics, Master degree is an asset

Experience: At least 2 years of experience in Accounting. Experience in a Shipping company is a plus

Knowledge Areas: Knowledge of maritime chart of accounts is preferable

Other qualifications: Organizational skills, attention to details, thoroughness and accuracy, analytical thinking, excellent PC skills, communication skills, proficient user of MS Office

Languages: Fluent English, other European language is an asset
