Accountant

Aegean Shipping Enterprises M.C., a group of  N959/79 and N89 shipping companies is looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Accountant.

Our Accounting team is growing and we are looking for a motivated Assistant Accountant to join forces and help us deliver our goals. You will be responsible for supporting the Accounting team in the completeness of daily tasks and ensure accuracy by providing solutions.

The ideal candidate should cover the following requirements:

Qualifications:

• BA in Accounting/Finance
• 3-5 years experience in Shipping Accounting Department
• Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
• Knowledge of Singular ERP will be considered an asset
• Knowledge of IFRS/GREEK GAAP will be beneficial
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Computer literacy with Advanced MS Excel skills
• Communication and organizational skills
• Team spirit and high sense of responsibility

Responsibilities:

• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
• Prepare and reconcile accounting records (bank’s balances & cash, expenses)
• Preparation and communication with vendors/customers  for reconciliation purposes
• Monitoring of tax obligations (Mydata)
• Support month-end and year–end close process
• Manage ad hoc financial reports if necessary
