A private, family owned, shipping company based in Athens with a long history of owning/managing dry cargo ships seeks to employ an operations manager

Responsibilities

• Supervise the commercial operations of the fleet.
• Monitor the daily progress of the fleet.
• Ensure compliance with the charterparty terms.
• Communicate with the Masters, Charterers and other stakeholders.
• Ensure vessels are ready to receive cargo and execute intended employment.
• Approve stowage plans, bunker intake calculations, vetting questionnaires.
• Arrange bunker stems.
• Coordinate with the Chartering Department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in shipping or related field.  Alternatively, 10 years of shipboard experience for a suitable candidate will be considered.
• Five to Ten years professional experience.
• Strong leadership capabilities, attention to detail and good teamwork skills.
